Just Accepted Christ?
Welcome to the family! We are so glad that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. You are now a born-again believer, a member of God's family, and you have many brothers and sisters in Christ. This may seem daunting, but don't worry, Christ will guide you every step of the way.
Next Steps
1. Read the Bible
The Bible is the foundation of a believer. It is inspired by God, inerrant, and the authority on which our faith is based. As believers, we read the Bible to get to know God and His character. We also read it to understand how to lead our lives.
-
You can purchase a physical Bible at any bookstore.
-
You can also access a digital Bible on various apps.
2. Get Connected to a Local Church
Community is essential in the life of a believer for support, growth, and helping others. Some things to consider when you’re deciding whether a church is right for you:
-
Are they Bible based? - Look to see if they refer to the Bible and quote Scripture
-
Are they welcoming? - Are people friendly and greeting you? Do you feel accepted?
In all things, seek the Lord, and find the church that is right for you.
3. Pray Regularly
Prayer is how a believer communicates with God. It is simple and can be done anywhere, at any time. Prayers can be said audibly, in your mind, or written down. Ask the Lord to show you how to pray.
-
Example: Jesus, I desire to know you and to understand how to navigate my life as a new believer. Please help me, in Jesus’ Name, amen.
